Frostner reworked into a returning hammer

A managed plugin changes the existing Frostner weapon into a throwable thunder hammer that can return to the player’s hand.

These are the source’s versions, not a promise for your current build.

How the pieces fit together

  1. Back up the test saves and configure the source’s matching loader and library versions.
  2. Patch the existing Frostner prefab, throw behaviour and recall interaction rather than introducing another item.
  3. Build and load the plugin, then test repeated throws, recalls and inventory recovery in a disposable game session.

What the source reports testing

  • The note reports dozens of hand-played throw and recall cycles on a native Linux install.
  • It reports walking recalls, full-inventory recovery and a timeout path intended to prevent item loss.

What remains unproven here

The described tests are on the source’s Linux build. They do not establish Windows or multiplayer compatibility; ModLab has not reproduced the plugin.

Lessons from the source

A throw duplicates the weapon

The note intercepts projectile setup before the original item-drop state is stored.

Recall returns the item but does not equip it

The source checks the equip result and avoids an attack animation that keeps the player busy.

Try a smaller first project

First confirm your loader runs and make one reversible weapon-value change. Add throw and recall behaviour only after that base test passes.
