Fal Arsenal: weapons, enemies and a boss

A tModLoader content pack with five weapons, three enemies and a two-phase boss. Learn how code, sprites and repeatable game tests fit together.

Advanced scope · editorial estimate. This is a study of an upstream example, not a ModLab-tested download.

Route
C# loader API; generated sprites

These are the source’s versions, not a promise for your current build.

How the pieces fit together

  1. Build separate item, projectile and NPC classes against the installed tModLoader API.
  2. Fit generated sprites to the implementation, including orientation and animation frames.
  3. Compile the project, load it in an isolated world, and use the example’s test commands to exercise the content.

What the source reports testing

  • The author reports game logs, screenshots and a repeatable showcase scene.
  • The ported example compiled through three command-line build routes. The note explicitly says its in-game Build + Reload was not re-run.

What remains unproven here

Multiplayer was not verified upstream. Explosions alter the world; restore a disposable world between tests. ModLab has not reproduced this pack.

Lessons from the source

Repeated tests produce different scenes

World damage persists between runs. Restore the same clean test-world backup.

Sprites face the wrong way

Compare item, NPC and projectile orientation separately; their conventions differ.

Try a smaller first project

Create one starter sword with a placeholder sprite before attempting the whole pack. Our six-step workshop includes prompts, checkpoints and recovery notes.
